Author Candia Baker Laughlin MS, RN-BC

Candia Laughlin MS, RN-BC is the Director of Ambulatory Care Nursing for the University of Michigan Health System. She has served in progressively more responsible positions in the specialty of ambulatory care since 1978, including roles as Nurse Practitioner, manager, assistant director and director of nursing. She is a past president of the American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing and has supported certification of ambulatory care nurses by teaching the certification Review Course and the writing and editing of certification products, including two editions of the textbook Core Curriculum for Ambulatory Care Nursing. She has been very involved in the evolution of the role of the nurse in care coordination and transitions of care in her system.
