Monica Mount is a registered nurse at Mass General Brigham with over 22 years of experience in a variety of settings, including emergency medicine, global health, flight medicine, dialysis, and clinical and classroom instruction. Monica served as the nurse manager of dialysis services at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and continues as an advanced clinician in the emergency department of MGH. Prior to joining BWH, Monica served at MGH in the Center for Global Health working in Uganda and the Center for Disaster Medicine focused on biothreat response. She has served as adjunct faculty at the IHP for the RN-MSN acute care nursing program and as clinical faculty at Simmons University for undergraduate nursing. As a member of the MGH global health response team, she has deployed as a humanitarian aid nurse for Project Hope to Nepal (2015 earthquake) and Afghanistan (2021 refugee transport). She has worked internationally and domestically providing HAZMAT-WMD. Monica is a nurse specialist on the HHS/ASPR/ NDMS Massachusetts –1 disaster medical assistance team. Currently, Monica is the professional development manager for Brigham and Women’s Physician Organization/Harbor Medical Associates providing nursing leadership to a multi-specialty ambulatory care practice that encompasses eight locations. Monica was the first to be licensed as a clinical nurse specialist in the state of Massachusetts.
