Christine B. Macaulay MSN, RN, CEN

Christine Macaulay is a Nursing Practice and Patient Safety Specialist at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), a 500-bed hospital with multiple primary and specialty care locations spanning two states. Christine has over 35 years of experience in nursing in various leadership roles. She has practiced for the last 19 years at CHOP in both urban and community settings. Past roles include ED CNS, ED Nurse Manager, ED Director, Interim CNO, APP Coordinator, and Nursing Practice and Patient Safety Specialist. Christine’s passion for her entire career has been patient advocacy, safety, and staff professional development. She utilizes her combined experience in clinical evidence-based practice, management, and regulatory compliance to lead innovative projects, such as the first Ambulatory Fall Prevention Program chosen by ANCC as an exemplar for Magnet hospitals. Christine also leads a health system wide competency-based orientation program for Advance Practice providers, Ambulatory RNs, LPNs, CMAs, and registration staff. Christine authored two chapter on standards of care, as well as other articles on safety for various periodicals.
