Andrea Kossoudji has been a nurse over 15 years and currently works for the Veterans Health Administration. She is the implementation lead for the Exposure-Related Care Transformation (EXPRT) Center and nurse educator located within the War-Related Illness and Injury Study Center (WRIISC) and Health Outcomes Military Exposures (HOME). Andrea started her career in the VA in 2018 as a patient-aligned care team RN care manager at the VA San Diego Healthcare System. Prior to joining the VA, Andrea was an army nurse corps officer for 8 years and served in a variety of clinical and operational roles, including a deployment to Afghanistan. Andrea holds a master of science degree in nursing from the University of Colorado with a specialty in veteran and military health care. Andrea continues to work intimately with front-line staff to better understand the needs of healthcare staff providing care to veterans with military environmental exposure concerns. Andrea previously was chair of the AAACN Veterans Affairs Special Interest Group Chair and is currently serving as past-chair for the Federal Nursing Special Interest Group.
