Dr. Dawn Fletcher is a nurse administrator at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. With over a decade of experience as a nurse leader, Dr. Fletcher has dedicated her career to preventing workplace violence in healthcare settings. She co-leads the workplace violence prevention efforts for the Florida campus and serves as a subject matter expert on the topic for several system committees and work groups. Dr. Fletcher’s doctoral work focused on "A leader's response to workplace violence in ambulatory care," showcasing her commitment to addressing this critical issue. In 2021, Dr. Fletcher was invited to testify at the Georgia State Senate Committee on Violence Against Healthcare Workers, further demonstrating her advocacy for safer healthcare environments. In October 2022, Dr. Fletcher was appointed as the chair for the AAACN Workplace Safety Task Force which was transitioned into the Workplace Safety and Workforce Well-Being SIG which she currently serves as chair. Dr. Fletcher has also co-authored workplace violence education for the National Alliance on Mental Illness in Georgia and actively teaches these classes.
