Karla Schroeder DNP, RN, MHA, ANP-BC, NE-BC

Dr. Karla Schroeder is the associate chief nursing officer for ambulatory care at Emory Healthcare in Atlanta, Georgia. Dr. Schroeder serves as an instructor at California State University, Institute for Palliative Care, where she teaches advanced practice palliative nursing certification courses. She has more than 25 years of experience in the nursing field. Of the 25 years, more than 20 of those have been spent in leadership. She has used her nursing experience in the roles of clinician, consultant, author, teacher, researcher, and leader. Dr. Schroeder’s research and scholarship includes end-of-life care for diverse populations, symptom management, dehumanization, harm avoidance, moral dilemma, end-of-life nursing education, wellness, resiliency, staffing workload, models of care, and financial implications of care.
