Katy Fournier

Katy Fournier has been a nurse for almost 20 years. She spent much of her career in perinatal nursing, working in clinics, hospitals, and home settings. In 2011 she began practicing telephone triage in an OB clinic with HealthPartners in Bloomington, Minnesota. From there, she transitioned to the organization's centralized call center. As a triage nurse at the call center, Fournier identified a knowledge and training deficit, and in response developed an education and training program for their pregnancy and newborn call line. After 5 years at the call center, she transitioned to a newly developed position as the Quality Assurance Coordinator. It was in this role that she was tasked with evaluating and revising the quality program for nurse triage. Currently Fournier is pursuing a PhD in nursing at the University of Texas at Austin as a Robert Wood Johnson Future of Nursing Scholar.
