Lenekia McKnight MSN, RN, OCN

Dr. Lenekia McKnight is the director of nursing education for ambulatory services at Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA. She has been a nurse for 27 years. She began her career as a bedside nurse in oncology at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. In 2014, she became certified in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt). While at Phoebe, she became the director of nursing education and the diabetes center. In 2015, she relocated to the Atlanta area and assumed the role of director of nursing professional development and practice for ambulatory care services for a system which has 200+ specialty and subspecialty clinics located throughout the state of Georgia. Upon coming to ambulatory care services, she assisted in the development of the ambulatory care nurse residency program and the clinical support staff progression lattice program. She developed and oversees the medical assistant apprenticeship program, which is registered with the Department of Labor.
