Dr. Rosemary Ryan serves as director of ambulatory services for the University of Alabama in Birmingham (UAB) medical center. Rosemary has been a nurse for over 30 years, starting as an ADN-prepared nurse in 1992. Her career has spanned across both inpatient and outpatient nursing services. As a life-long learner, she returned to nursing school at the University of Alabama in Huntsville in 2007 to complete a BSN degree, followed by an MSN degree in healthcare leadership, and in 2017, she earned a DNP degree from UAB Rosemary has been with UAB Medicine since 2009, first as a quality improvement coordinator for perioperative services and then transitioning over to leadership for ambulatory care services. Currently, Rosemary is the director for 10 clinical specialty areas, including the patient healthcare coordination center, which performs telephone triage for clinical specialty areas within the organization.
