Director of the Environmental Contaminants Clinic, Veterans Health Administration
Dr. Stephen Hunt is an expert in the health effects of military service, deployment, and military environmental exposures. He is the VA national physician lead for the PACT Act Screening Initiatives (Sections 603 and 405) as well as VA national director of the post-deployment integrated care initiative. He is the director of the environmental contaminants’ clinic at VA Puget Sound and a clinical professor of occupational and environmental medicine at the University of Washington. Throughout his 30-year career, in addition to caring for veterans and educating healthcare providers (both VA and non-VA) and trainees, Dr. Hunt has been involved in clinical research and policy development in support of veterans with deployment-related health concerns including chronic pain, TBI, MH conditions, and military environmental exposures. He has published numerous peer-reviewed scientific articles and is a lead author on the Harrison’s Principles of Internal Medicine chapter on health care for military veterans.
