Terry Foster has been in nursing for over 40 years and has held positions of ward clerk, staff nurse, charge nurse, critical-care instructor, clinical director, and night supervisor at the Mercy Hospitals of Cincinnati in Ohio and at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in northern Kentucky. Foster currently works as a Critical-Care Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Emergency Departments at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Foster is a nationally known and sought after speaker on nursing humor. He has performed at the Las Vegas Caesar’s Palace, Atlantic City’s Trump Tower, and in local comedy venues in the greater Cincinnati area. In 2010, Foster played himself on an episode of TLC’s program “Untold Stories of the ER.” He is the first RN to ever be featured on this physician-only based television show. Foster is a well-known author and speaker, addressing both nursing humor as well as clinical topics. He was the recipient of the 2009 Judith Kelleher award given by the national Emergency Nurses Association and was inducted as a Fellow into the Academy of Emergency Nursing.
