Nurses play a critical role in ambulatory care, often serving as the primary point of contact for veterans in a variety of settings. Regardless of where they practice, it is essential for nurses to be knowledgeable and prepared to care for veterans with military environmental exposure concerns and health outcomes potentially related to their exposure. The knowledge and skills acquired through these educational initiatives enable nurses to implement exposure-informed care into nursing practice.
