One Way: Providing a Clear Path to the Direct Admission Process

Direct admission to the hospital can be a suitable substitute that bypasses the emergency department; however, this can put the patient at an increased safety risk if not clinically triaged by providers. This session discusses a project for use of the electronic medical record transfer center module to intake direct admissions by transfer center RNs to ensure accurate clinical triage and bed placement while simultaneously implementing an electronic SBAR handoff tool to increase clinical transparency.
