A functional, effective triage system can contribute to the organization’s goals of increasing patient safety, improving quality outcomes, decreasing adverse events, improving patient satisfaction, and decreasing hospital visits. This session explores one institution's efforts to improve documentation of telephone triage encounters via a pilot project to reduce symptom-based telephone encounters and improve the reason for call documentation.
