Strengthening Nurse-Physician Collaboration: The Time is Now!!

The Institute of Medicine's report on the Future of Nursing gives us the opportunity to impact communication and access to care. RN/MD collaboration is crucial to achieving this goal. With 3.1 million RNs and 800,000 MDs in the United States today, the time to focus on collaboration is NOW!

Learning Objectives:

• Identify differences in relationship paradigms for RNs and MDs in the work environment.
• Describe the collaborative curve as it relates to the RN/MD relationship and the different levels of development.
• Define and describe flashpoints in general and as it may relate to the attendees' work environment.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the RN/MD collaborative relationship in the attendees' work environment to enhance patient safety, quality of care, and overall care exp
