Christel Anderson MA

Christel Anderson is the Director of Clinical Informatics for HIMSS, the largest U.S. cause-based, not-for-profit healthcare association focused on the optimal use of information technology and management systems for the betterment of healthcare.

In this role, she leads all clinical informatics initiatives, communities, goals, strategies, resources, and research, for HIMSS. She currently serves on the Alliance for Nursing Informatics Executive Committee, the TIGER Initiative Foundation Board of Directors, the Association Forum Content Committee, and the Lincoln Park Zoo Auxiliary Board of Directors. She has published and lectured on the awareness and impact of clinical informatics as the integration of science, data, knowledge and wisdom. She has served as a contributor to national survey research including the HIMSS Nursing Informatics Workforce Surveys, The Impact of Informatics Nurses and the Clinical Transformation Survey. Most recently, she published a chapter in the 4th edition of Nursing Informatics: Where Caring and Technology Meet focusing on Technology Enabled Practice. Ms. Anderson earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL, and a Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Illinois.
