Dr. Michele Hasselblad is the vice president and CNO for adult ambulatory nursing services at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, a role she has served in since 2019. In this position, she has operational and nursing practice responsibility for over 200 clinics, representing primary care, specialty care, and outpatient procedural clinics throughout middle TN and the southeast region. In addition, Dr. Hasselblad has another 14 years of progressive leadership experience and clinical practice background is perioperative nursing, having spent more than 10 years caring for patients in the cardiothoracic specialty. Dr. Hasselblad completed her MSN degree at Vanderbilt’s School of Nursing and her DNP degree from the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2020. Her doctoral work focused on improving ambulatory nurse autonomy through shared governance, which was published this past year. She also completed a year-long post-doctoral fellowship in 2022 at the Ohio State Helene Fuld Health Trust National Institute for EBP in Nursing and Healthcare. Dr. Hasselblad currently writes the leadership column for the AAACN ViewPoint Publication.
