This session addresses how classification of types of services provided by nurses in the primary care setting, along with the time required to provide these services, provides a foundation for reimbursement for nursing services. Identification of the type and dose of nursing services is foundational for the research to guide an evidence-based approach for adding specific nursing services to existing clinical guidelines and the development of future clinical guidelines, linking nursing work to clinical outcomes in a team-based care model.
