Claire Glover received her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Virginia in 1990, and began her career as a Pediatric ICU nurse at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. In 1995, she relocated to the Pacific Northwest and continued her PICU career at Seattle Children’s Hospital, achieving CCRN certification in 1999. Over the past 10 years, Claire has worked as a hospital department manager in both Washington State, as well as California, and moved into an educator role in 2005, when she became the Inpatient Cardiology Educator at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. After having her daughter, Georgia, she decided to return to Washington State, and after 20 years of inpatient nursing, she made the decision to leave hospital nursing and move into the ambulatory care arena. She is currently the Manager of Clinical Education for The Everett Clinic, in Everett, WA.
She has served on the Northwest Organization of Nurse Executives' (NWONE) Health Care Policy Commission since 2009, is a member of AAACN, and served as Chairman of the Coalition for WA State MA Scope of Practice from 2008 -2011. She lobbied for and helped to successfully pass two health care assistant laws in Washington state in 2009 and 2011, and served in a consultative capacity in the development of the new Medical Assistant Scope of Practice law that passed in the state legislature on March 29th of 2012.
