Hazel Torres is the Director of Kaiser Permanente Medical Group’s Southern California Regional Professional Development and Research Team. Her nursing career of 24 years includes being a clinical instructor for students in the baccalaureate nursing program, a bedside nurse in rehab and pediatric units, an ambulatory care nurse who performed telephone triage, and professional development. Her passion is in making sure that nursing in any setting is able to make a positive difference in patients’ lives. She strongly believes that nurses are the true patient advocates and her primary role in professional development is to be a nurse advocate – looking out for nurses as they are looking out for their patients.
