Dr. Joan Stanley is the chief academic officer at the American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN). She has spent more than 25 years helping shape nursing education at AACN. Dr. Stanley graduated from Duke University with her BSN. She received a master of science in nursing from the University of Maryland at Baltimore and her PhD in higher education policy and organization from the University of Maryland at College Park.
