Patricia A. White RN, BSN, CPN
Patty is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson University. She has been a Pediatric Nurse for almost 27 years. She began her nursing career as a new GN at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia on an Infant/Toddler Medical Surgical floor. She then went on to have a 17 year career in Pediatric Home Care both as a Staff Nurse and Clinical Coordinator.
For the last 7 years, she has been employed by The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia After Hours Program as a Pediatric Telephone Triage Nurse. Patty is so thankful to be working from home at this time and loves educating her patients over the phone to help them to take care of their children and themselves. She is very involved in Shared Governance both on the unit and at the hospital level, and is a Breastfeeding Resource Nurse for After Hours. She is co-author for an evidence-based poster entitled "Pediatric Telephone Triage: There's No Place Like Home."
Patty has been married to her husband Dan for almost 25 years and has one daughter, Lauren, who is 21 years old. Patty was one of the founding members of The Delaware County Down Syndrome Interest Group after her daughter was born in 1989 with Down Syndrome, and continues to be very active in that group serving on their Board and also as Chairperson of their annual Walk-A-Thon which is held every year in March.
She also volunteers for other groups that advocate for people with developmental disabilities such as the ARC and Special Olympics. She will be helping to bring a Lose The Training Wheels Bike Camp to the Philadelphia area again this summer so that young people with disabilities can learn how to ride a 2 wheel bike, which will increase their independence and self-esteem!
