Dr. Erika Sawin is an associate professor at James Madison University School of Nursing in Virginia. She has been an associate professor since 2008. Her specialty area is community health. She has studied rural health-related issues since 2009. In 2018, she became the director of the undergraduate primary care and rural education project, a HRSA-funded project focusing on nursing education in primary care settings. In this role, she has developed an interest in primary care RN roles and top-of-scope nursing practice.
