He completed his undergraduate degree of nursing at Florida State University and a Master’s in Education at Old Dominion University. His passion for diabetes education started in 2004 while still on active duty and became a CDE in 2005. He currently works at the Captain James A. Lovell, Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago, IL (the first fully integrated VA/DOD facility in the Nation). He is the team leader for a Primary Care Diabetes Team. Tony provides diabetes education and management to patients via different modalities including individual face-to-face, Shared Medical Appointments, and Telehealth.  He is also a Teleretinal Imager.  Tony's strong believe in the importance of the nurses' role as educators in every aspect/setting, led him to work on this research project in order to help evaluate and implement educational opportunities for nurses.
