
Penny Morgan Overgaard PhD, RN, CPN

Dr. Penny Morgan Overgaard earned her ADN at Kishwaukee College in Malta, IL and a BSN degree and an MSN degree from Grand Canyon University. She completed her PhD degree at the University of Arizona in 2018. Dr. Overgaard has worked as a nurse and nurse leader in the ambulatory care setting for 25 years. She currently works as an assistant clinical professor at the University of Arizona College of Nursing. Dr. Overgaard has two major fields of research interest in health disparities and nursing narratives. Dr. Overgaard’s clinical interests include an enduring passion for developing nurses as healthcare leaders, strategies for enhancing collaborative practice, and nursing professional development that encompasses interpersonal and intrapersonal communication and ways of knowing.
