Denise Hannagan, MSN, MHA, RN-BC is the Ambulatory Education Program Coordinator at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, in Los Angeles, CA. She facilitates and coordinates for the multiple outpatient specialty groups the nursing orientation, assists with Joint Commission preparation, clinic specific competency and skills monitoring. She assists with workflow design along with policy and procedures. Denise has 29 years of healthcare experience ranging from front office staff to quality management, credentialing, case management, clinic staff nurse, and education.  

She received her BSN, MSN, and MHA all through the University of Phoenix, online program. Her leadership roles has been in the Educator Role at two large institutions, Carle in Urbana, Illinois and now at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, CA. Denise has been actively involved in several areas of ambulatory care, implementation and teaching the electronic medical record, development of an ambulatory nursing orientation, department specific orientation checklist , and actively involved with the shared governance model at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, promoting continuing education and certification. She is a member of the Leadership and Staff Education SIG for the American Academy of Ambulatory Nursing. She is assisting /co-authoring a chapter for the Core Curriculum on Care Coordination that the AAACN is publishing soon. From the start of her healthcare career, her focus has been Ambulatory and promoting it as a nursing specialty.
