Dawn Vonderheide DNP, RN, AMB-BC, NE-BC

Dawn Vonderheide is the director of ambulatory care clinical practice at Kaiser Permanente. She has been in an ambulatory care leadership position for over 20 years with operational and support functions. She is responsible for leading and implementing clinical practice scope for the ambulatory care nursing and non-nursing clinical staff for over 4,000 employees at 23 medical office buildings. She has responsibilities for the implementation of the nursing practice excellence, national nursing model, enhancement of practice partnership, and patient safety initiatives. Dawn sponsors and develops standing orders and standardized procedures to support health care practice, and leads the DAISY Award for nursing staff and Sunflower Award for non-nursing staff. She has served as a reviewer for the regional award programs, Garfield Distinction, and Everyday Heroes and serves as a member of the Kaiser Permanente regional nursing research committee.
