Patrick is a retired Army Nurse who currently works with Tricare Management Activities (TMA) as the Director of Data & Decision Support in the Health Program Analysis and Evaluation office. During his Career in the Army, Patrick has served a variety of roles in several Clinical settings as a Pediatric Nurse from Newborns to General Pediatrics. As an Inforamtics Nurse in the Army, Patrick had the honor of serving as the Nursing Informatics Consultant to the Army Surgeon General. While on Active Duty, he had the privilege of being the Outpatient Project Officer for the Military Health Systems Electronic Health Record- AHLTA. After working on AHLTA, he was assigned to help establish a congressionally mandated office- The Interagency Program Office- A Joint office with the Dept of Defense and Veteran Affairs where he was responsible for overseeing information technology projects in both Health and Benefits that are shared services between the two Departments. After retiring, he worked for the Veterans Health Administration in their Central Office for Enterprise System Management working on Joint projects with Dept of Defense on Centers of Excellence for Vision, Hearing and Extremities. Patrick is active with TIGER- Technology Guiding Education Reform, and has been an active board member on ANIA-CARING - A national nursing informatics organization where he is currently serving as the Region 3 Director.
