Dr. Stefanie Coffey began her career as a registered nurse in 1985. She has worked in many acute care areas including telemetry, ICU, and ER. She attended the University of Florida for her Bachelor, Master's and Doctorate degrees. Stefanie feels like she's found her "home" working with veterans and loves her position, where she is afforded the opportunity to improve patient care through performance improvement, quality improvement projects, and the provision of "hands-on" care in her role as the PACT care coordinator. In addition, she finds some of the most rewarding moments in mentoring fellow nurses and encouraging advanced education. She is adjunct faculty for the University of Central Florida, where she teaches at the graduate and undergraduate level. She is first and foremost a nurse advocate; she feels "how can a nurse provide the best care, if they themselves are not cared for in their workplace?"
