Simulation and technology-enhanced education is an increasingly utilized approach to education in pediatric nursing. Simulation training is a frequent topic of interest posed in the AAACN Pediatric SIG. As a result, the Pediatric SIG Advisory group has curated a session to present the structure of one pediatric health system’s ambulatory care education and simulation education team, followed by a second organization’s presentation of their approach to and success using simulation-based escape room education.

The primary care system in the US is facing challenges pertaining to job satisfaction and burnout among providers, staff, and managers, contributing to high worker turnover and detrimental effects on care quality and access. Participants explore the association between implementing an innovation contest and employee perceptions of feeling heard, organizational identification (the extent to which employees identify with organizational goals and values), job satisfaction, and burnout in primary care.

Nurses from diverse ambulatory care roles and practice settings participated in advancing AAACN’s new research agenda to move the ambulatory care nursing specialty forward. Evidence-based practice and research self-efficacy findings provide a platform for AAACN’s Research Committee to develop professional workforce development programs. This session describes the key ambulatory care nursing research priorities identified in this landmark study, explain the self-efficacy of ambulatory care nurses with key research and evidence-based practice skills/competencies, and discuss study implications for ambulatory care nursing education, practice and research.
