This presentation from members of the AAACN Research Committee is designed increase the confidence and capabilities of novice authors. Attendees are encouraged to bring a manuscript idea or draft with them to apply lessons to their own work. Focus includes the understanding of the importance of scholarly writing to disseminate research findings, contribute to evidence-based practice, and advance the science of ambulatory care nursing; gaining knowledge of the publication process, including selecting a target journal, manuscript development, manuscript submission, peer review, and responding to reviewer comments; and developing a manuscript outline using the introduction, methods, results, discussion, and conclusion structure and any applicable reporting guidelines.
